Swannington Farm to Fork

2nd March 2022 by Hannah Springham

Swannington Farm to Fork

Welcome to the third in our ‘From the Farmyard’ series and we’re proud to introduce multi award winning butchers – Swannington Farm to Fork. Helen & Rob Mutimer fully embody everything we stand for at Farmyard – their meat is fully traceable; the quality and taste is fantastic; and animal welfare is a high priority.

Our Q&A’s give a brief but interesting insight into the people behind the produce and we always squeeze them for a cracking tip or recipe – so it’s well worth the read and share!

Farmyard meat suppliers Swannington Farm to Fork

Tell us a little about the ethos behind your business?
Swannington Farm to Fork is all about sourcing and serving great local produce within a friendly team environment.

When did you start supplying Farmyard?
We started supplying Farmyard early part of 2021. We’re really excited to be a part of their new Farmyard Frozen range too.

What makes the partnership successful/meaningful?
We love working with and supporting other local businesses. Andrew and his team at The Dialhouse and Farmyard turn our Swannington meat into incredibly tasty farm to fork dishes and in turn we all have happy customers.

Why is buying local so important?
Simple – local is always best and better for the environment.

What is your favourite day out/ place in Norfolk?
Anywhere on the Norfolk coast walking the dogs with family.

What is your favourite dish/drink using your product?
Swannington pork loin is fantastic and great for roasting. BBQ season is just around the corner and our pork chops and pork steaks are perfect for marinading and grilling.

Can you share a food/drink tip with our readers?

How to make the Perfect Crackling

My perfect crackling tip – simply boil the kettle, poor hot water over the rind and place into pre heated oven. Perfect every time!

Thank you to Swannington for taking the time to chat with us and share that amazing crackling tip. I’m sure I’m not the only one planning Roast Pork for Mothering Sunday!

Check out their farm shops in Swannington and Horstead and fill your basket with scrumptious homemade Sausage rolls, Scotch eggs and Pork Pies. They offer a wide range of products, including Traditional Sausages, Dry Cured Bacon, Matured Steaks, Lean Mince and Matured, Flavoursome Roasting Joints.
